If you would like to explore sustainability from a personal perspective, as a civic issue, or as a career opportunity, then iSustain learning community is the right choice!

The iSustain learning community is an academic year-long experience (fall and spring semesters) which explores sustainability from community, environmental, economic and social perspectives. By participating in this learning community you will get assistance with charting an academic and career path just right for you!

  • View sustainability through various lenses (i.e. environmental, social, and economic)
  • Stay on-track with support from our friendly faculty, advisers, professional staff and peer mentors; as well as other department services

Be admitted to CSUF as a first-time freshman student (college transfer students are not eligible). Contact the Office of Admission and Records with admissions questions, (657) 278-7601.


Complete the online Application beginning March 1, 2016. First consideration will be given to students who apply by May 1. Applications will be accepted until all spaces in the program are filled. You may also contact FYE by email at or visit our office in Langsdorf Hall (LH) 216.
