April 16 – May 21, 2016
Creator's Talk: Meng Concert Hall, 2-3 pm

About the Exhibition

Happy Happy Joy Joy: 25 Years of Creator-Driven Animation, presented a collection of art and artifacts inspired by 25 years of Nickelodeon’s vast portfolio of iconic animated series, f rom original character sketches to annotated storyboards to video interviews with notable animation veterans.

As the leading industry player in supporting original, creator-driven animation for kids since the launch of Doug, Rugrats and The Ren & Stimpy Show, 2016 marked a quarter century of groundbreaking and culturally defining animation for which Nickelodeon is known for around the world. The interactive and public retrospective exhibition highlighted the influential shows and characters that have embodied Nickelodeon’s voice from the past to the present, and displayed both commissioned and archived works.
