Honors Medallions

Students graduating with academic honors wear medallions signifying their honors designations.

Academic honors designations are for bachelor's degree recipients only based on overall performance (from fall 2022):

• 3.5 to 3.74 for cum laude
• 3.75 to 3.89 for magna cum laude
• 3.9 to 4.0 for summa cum laude

Academic honors designations in Commencement are for bachelor's degree recipients only based on the overall performance at the end of Fall 2022 semester. Official award of appropriate diplomas and recognition of honors achieved are contingent upon the candidates having met all University requirements and related criteria. If final grades change the honors designation, the new designation will be printed on the transcript and diploma.

Undergraduate students who qualify for a medallion will be sent instructions from their college regarding pick-up options. For more questions about medals, please contact your commencement college coordinator.
