Welcome to the Entertainment
Age!
We are entering an age when entertainment touches every aspect of our
lives. You can find entertainment not only at the theater, but also at
hotels, restaurants and shopping malls, not only on television and radio,
but also on web sites, cellular phones and PDAs. Cal State Fullerton has
introduced new programs designed to prepare students and professionals
for this new age of entertainment. To oversee these programs, CSUF has
established the Center for Entertainment and Tourism Studies.
ET CENTER
Cal State Fullerton's Center for Entertainment and Tourism Studies (ET
Center) is an interdisciplinary education, research and policy center
devoted to exploring issues, opportunities and concerns related to Entertainment
and Tourism in Orange County and the greater Southern California region.
ET Center serves as a liaison between participating campus departments
and offices and the professional community. A primary goal is to provide
students, scholars and industry professionals with the knowledge and tools
needed to study and work in these fields. To meet these needs, CSUF offers
many Entertainment and Tourism programs and activities.
CSUF Entertainment and Tourism programs and
activities include:
 |
Undergraduate and Graduate Degree Programs |
 |
Professional Development Opportunities |
 |
Internship and Job Placement Services |
 |
Research and Consulting Services |
Why CSUF?
The ET Center's name and location reflect Orange County's position as
a center of growth for the entertainment and tourism industries. The recent
Disney expansion coupled with the development of new resorts and exciting
shoppertainment centers are drawing even larger numbers of tourists and
business opportunities to Orange County. Many entertainment related enterprises
including film and video production operations and new technology companies
are also locating here and the traditional entertainment hub of Hollywood
is close by. ET Center was developed to facilitate this growth through
industry relevant educational, professional development and research programs.
Networked
to the Industries
CSUF's programs are distinguished by their professional focus. These programs
are guided by input from an advisory
board of industry professionals. Close ties with local entertainment
and tourism industries help insure our programs provide individuals with
the knowledge, skills and contacts needed to succeed in these fields!
