| In April 1998, Lea became the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs
in the School of the Arts. She worked to develop a sense of community
and recognized the importance of programs emphasizing leadership and
recognition of student accomplishments. Lea developed the residential
component of the Grand Central Art Center in Santa Ana, hired and
trained staff, and coordinated several elements of the public grand
opening.
As Assistant Dean, she served on several university committees
and worked with a team to help students achieve academic goals.
In spring 2001, Lea accepted the position of Acting Associate Dean
of New Student Programs.
