Ryan Alcantara currently serves as the Director of Honors
& Scholars Support Services, where he supports the success of
students in the Honors Program, campus honor societies, and students
pursuing prestigious scholarships and fellowships. Ryan also coordinates
the annual Honors Convocation program.
Ryan came to Cal State Fullerton in August 1997 joining the Dean
of Students Office. In his time there, Ryan had the opportunity
to work with a number of programs and services, including advising
fraternity and sorority life, the ASI Elections, the University
Leadership Conference, student life orientation, and the Volunteer
and Service Center.
CSUF Career Highlights:
- Re-established communication with city police and worked to
improve relationship between fraternity members and the community
- Developed the Volunteer and Service Center, including a new
physical space
- Spearheaded initiative to provide support to students pursuing
nationally competitive scholarships, including Rhodes, Truman,
and Marshall
- Worked with students to develop a interclub council for the
various campus honor societies
- Selected as an Educational Leadership Institute/James Irvine
Fellow (inaugural class)
- Student Leadership Institute Presenter
- Advisor to the Council of Honor Societies, University Honor
Society, and the campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity
Ryan consistently goes above and beyond his job description
in designing new programs and services, serving on University
Committees and volunteering for new assignments. He is an asset
to the Division of Student Affairs!
