Cal State Fullerton does not have a live-on requirement currently. On campus housing options are provided based on a first eligible basis. Housing and Residential Engagement provides residence halls, suites, and apartment-style living for approximately 2,000 students. Living on campus is an excellent way to enhance your educational experience. Being a member of a living and learning community can help strengthen both your personal growth and academic success. You will have the opportunity to develop life skills, attend educational, cultural and social programs, and interact more closely with faculty and university staff members. We encourage you to get involved, study hard, make new friends, and reach higher.

Living on campus gives you more than just a place to stay – it connects you to a community, to wellness, and to campus resources.

What Makes Us Unique!
  • Theme Living Communities  – Live with others who share your passions and experiences. Examples include our Ujima floor and Rainbow House floor, where students find support, friendship, and community.
  • All-Inclusive Living  – One bill covers everything: electricity, water, trash, and internet. Plus, a meal plan is included, giving you access to our “all-you-care-to-eat” dining facility—no cooking required!
  • Built-in Support  – From Resident Advisors (RAs) to full-time staff, you’ll always have someone available to guide you with academics, resources, or personal challenges.
  • Responsive Maintenance –  Our dedicated in-house facilities team provides prompt, reliable service to ensure all maintenance needs are addressed quickly, effectively, and with minimal disruption.
  • Community Programs and leadership opportunities  – Enjoy events like carnivals, movie nights, and game days, all right outside your door organized by student leaders and Resident Student Association and National Residence Hall Honorary.
What We Offer Students!
  • Resident Advisor (RA) Support  – RAs are your go-to guides for adjusting to campus life. They can connect you to campus resources, help with conflict resolution, or simply introduce you to new friends.
  • Academic & Wellness Resources Close to Home  – Living on campus gives you quick access to tutoring centers, study lounges, and campus wellness resources. Many residence halls even have dedicated study spaces and host wellness workshops, so you can succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Safe & Secure Living  – Our communities are staffed and monitored 24/7, with secured building access and professional staff on-call. Residents also benefit from partnerships with campus police and safety escorts, so you can feel confident and supported at all times.
  • Desk & Mail Operations  – Our service desks answer questions, provide support, and manage package deliveries. With  Amazon lockers right in the community, picking up packages is fast and convenient.
  • Cedar Wellness Room  – Right in the heart of housing, students can access our partnership with  Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). The Cedar Wellness Room offers massage chairs, nap pods, and opportunities for both group and individual counseling with our CAPS liaison, giving you a convenient space to relax, recharge, and prioritize your mental health.

Living on campus means you’re part of a vibrant, supportive community built for student success!

Overview of Housing Piazza

Sustainability in Student Housing

Cal State Fullerton has been focused on incorporating “green” design, construction and renovation elements into its buildings and outdoor space.

The five residence halls (Elm, Fig, Holly, Juniper, and Pine) and the Titan Dining Hall (formerly known as the Gastronome) became the first student housing complex in California to be awarded the Platinum Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification by the U.S. Green Building Council in 2011.

The LEED certification is based on a number of components that include sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality and material selection.

In the summer of 2016, the majority of the interior and exterior lighting in the Doubles and Singles Apartments were retrofitted to LED fixtures, reducing energy consumption by an estimated annual savings of 250,000 kWh.
