New Students: You must accept your Cal State Fullerton admission offer and pay the $250 enrollment deposit before applying for student housing . After you complete this process, you may need to wait up to four (4) business days before our system will recognize you as a student. If you log into the Housing Portal and don't see "Student Housing Application - Academic Year" in the menu bar, please wait another day before trying again. Contact our office if this continues for more than four (4) days.
The Student Housing License Agreement Process is made up of three steps . In order for your license agreement to be confirmed, you must complete all three steps of the application.
Step 1: Student Housing License Agreement Application and Housing Initial payment
Using your Cal State Fullerton student portal username and password, use the button below to access the CSUF Housing Portal and choose Student Housing Application - Academic Year from the menu bar. Fill in all required and applicable information as prompted on the application. Once all information is entered correctly, you will be prompted to pay your $350 Housing Initial Payment. You will receive a receipt via email confirming completion of Step 1.
During Step 1 of the Application, you will fill out your Roommate Profile that will be viewable to other students during Step 2. You will be able to return to this page to make changes later if you wish to do so. We encourage students to be as honest as possible on their Roommate Profile. Parents and Guardians - we strongly recommend that you refrain from completing your student's profile for them.
Invitations to Step 2 will be sent out based on a first-eligible frst-served basis.
Step 2: Roommate Selection
When Step 2 of the application opens, students who have been selected should return to the CSUF Student Housing Portal to view and select their roommate(s). In the Roommate Selection process, you may send requests to form a roommate group by selecting from potential matches (based on your Roommate Profile that you filled out in Step 1) or by searching for a specific student by their portal user-name. Once you send an invitation to a student, that student must accept the invitation to be added to your group.
You are able to form a group of up to six students for the Double Apartments and up to four students for the Single Apartments. You do not have to form a group of the full apartment size, and you can invite smaller groups to merge with yours if you wish.
On the "Your Roommate Group" page, you will see a message indicating whether or not your roommate group is Verified . Verification happens automatically and will inform you if your roommate group has an issue that will prevent you from selecting a room together. For example: if you are forming a group for the Single Apartments and your group has more than 4 people, it will not become verified and your group will not be able to participate in room selection until the issue is resolved.
All groups will have one Group Leader. The first student to send an invitation to another student becomes the leader when the other student accepts the invitation. The Group Leader is able to "pass leadership" to other group members.
You are able to use the CSUF Student Housing Portal application to communicate with potential roommates or your roommate group to get to know eachother better and plan for Move-In Day. We encourage you to share your contact information with your roommate group once you feel comfortable, but our office will not be able to share your roommates' contact information.
You will only be able to see and invite potential roommates who've selected the same apartment style as you. If you've been confirmed for a theme community (via email notification from our office), you will only be able to see and request other students within the same theme community.
Step 3: Room Selection
When Step 3 of the application opens, students who have been selected for Step 2 will be assigned a window of time (via email notification from our office) to return to the CSUF Student Housing Portal to view available rooms and bed spaces.
If you are in a roommate group, your group leader will be assigned a time to choose a room and place all members of the group into bed spaces in that room. For students applying to live in the Double Apartments: be sure to communicate with your roommate group about which roommates will be sharing bedrooms.
If you did not join a roommate group in Step 2, you will be able to choose a room with an empty bedspace during your assigned window of time.
After you are successfully assigned to a bed space, you will receive a confirmation via email with your assigned roommate(s), room, and bed space, and your application overview will indicate that your application is complete.
After you've completed all three steps and received your final email confirmation, your first installment payment will be charged to your student account in mid-July. The payment must be made on or before Friday, August 14, 2020 in order to receive keys on Move-In Day.
Students with enough anticipated financial aid to cover their first installment payment will not have to make a payment on August 14.
