African American History Month Reception
This event is hosted annually at El Dorado Ranch by President Milton A. and Dr. Margaret Faulwell Gordon to celebrate and commemorate African American History Month. Invitations are sent out to student leaders, students on the Dean's List, and membership of the African American Faculty & Staff Association.
Pan African Recognition Ceremony
The African American Faculty & Staff Association sponsors an annual recognition ceremony celebrating the graduation of our Cal State Fullerton students. In 2004, we held our 16 th Annual Recognition Celebration with over 700 faculty, staff, friends, and family members in attendance. For additional information, contact the

Multicultural Mentor Project
The African American Faculty & Staff Association first established the “Mentor Project” in 2002 which has now grown as a model mentoring program for all Cal State Fullerton ethnic faculty/staff associations and student participants. The Multicultural Mentor Project introduces students to the faculty, staff, or peer mentor(s) who share common life experiences, have expertise in the student's desired field of study, have knowledge of the CSUF campus, as well as other areas of interest. The Mentor Project strives to create a bond amongst the African-American faculty and staff and CSUF students.
Literary Club
This club sponsors monthly brown bag discussions around current events and books focused on African American culture and experiences. It is open to anyone interested in intellectual stimulation and sharing of perspectives around the monthly topics.
Student Scholarships
Outstanding Senior Award -$500 to a graduating senior who has made a significant impact in campus and community involvement and shows future leadership promise. The award is presented at the annual Pan African Recognition Ceremony in May. Application Process: submit an essay of 250 words or less that describes the impact you have made both on the CSUF campus and in your local community. Discuss your leadership attributes and your future goals upon graduation. Your essay should provide compelling evidence as to why you should be chosen as this year's Outstanding Graduate. Cultural Heritage Award - In recognition of Black History Month, the Cal State Fullerton African American Faculty & Staff Association has established the "Cultural Heritage Award" to encourage CSUF students to share their talent surrounding the visual and performing arts. Award winner receives $350.00 and presents their artistic expression of the month's theme at our annual African American History Month Celebration. Due Date- Early February
