University Advancement leads the cumulative efforts designed to help move the institution forward so that it may best fulfill its educational mission. Partnering extensively with the Cal State Fullerton Philanthropic Foundation, the division provides leadership in what is perhaps its most critical role: engaging in strategic relationship-building with – and stewardship of – alumni, businesses, foundations, emeriti, faculty, staff, parents and other important constituencies in order to generate the private financial support that is essential in sustaining and enhancing student scholarships, academic programs and educational facilities. In addition to a team of fundraising professionals, other departments within the division focus on work ranging from communications to major events and alumni relations to advancement operations. The division also provides key support in a number of other areas, including new student recruitment and outreach to government and community leaders.
