Paragon Ragtime Orchestra is famous for recreating the sounds of “America’s Original Music” – from early musical theatre to vintage dance. Performing for over 20 years, the 15-piece ensemble continues the tradition of Grammy® Award winning founder Rick Benjamin. Celebrate hits such as "One O’Clock Jump" and "April in Paris" with the world famous big band sensation Count Basie Orchestra as they make their debut at Cal State Fullerton’s stunning Meng Concert Hall. Dating back to the swing era of the mid-1930s, the Count Basie Orchestra is one of the most thriving Big Bands in history. Its nineteen performers are committed to upholding and advancing this “American Institution.” Some members are new, yet the majority of the sound still swings from musicians handpicked by Count Basie himself.
