Composer Engelbert Humperdinck wrote his opera “Hansel & Gretel,” based upon the fairy tale by Ludwig Grimm, as an engagement present for his fiancé.  After revising his original composition to create a full-scale opera, Richard Strauss conducted it's premiere. The opera was an instant success and went on to be the first complete opera to be broadcast on radio, and later the first to be transmitted live from the Metropolitan Opera.

Saxophonist Gary Foster is considered a "crossover" artist who performs in jazz, pop, and classical genres. He is known for his elegant and laid back style on both the alto and tenor saxes and has been prominent in the film, television, and music recording industries.

Pianist/clarinetist/composer/arranger (& CSUF Graduate) Tom Ranier is one of Southern California's top jazz improvisers, a musician both technically resplendent and emotionally open.
