Festivals and Special Events
The Department of Music annually offers a variety of festival-type events held on campus. Each offers a range of educational opportunities for area musicians from middle school through college, and many have concerts and recitals open to the public. Please see listings below for information of each.

Choral Festival
Early October
The Fall Choral Festival brings together mixed quartets from high schools throughout Southern California to form an Honor Choir. The Festival Honor Choir rehearses for one day and presents a concert the same evening. In addition to the Honor Choir, the Choral Festival concert features performances by two guest high school choirs, selected soloists, and the CSUF University Singers.
Participation is by invitation.

Trombone Day

A daylong extravaganza of master classes, clinics, recitals and exhibits. Previous guest artists have included Jeannie Little, Bones West, Michael Davis, Bill Reichenbach, Ralph Sauer, Bones Apart and more! Jazz Festival

Women in New Music Festival

Generic Description: This annual festival regularly features listening rooms, guest composer lectures and panels and performances by guest ensembles. Previous guests have included eighth blackbird, Pauline Oliveros and Joan Tower. For further information contact: Pamela Madsen
Choir Festival
March
The Spring Choir Festival is a one-day adjudicated festival for high school choirs. Participating choirs are adjudicated on their performance of prepared repertoire and on sight singing. Each choir receives an overall rating and a plaque. The Spring Festival also features a performance by the CSUF University Singers.
Participation is by invitation.
CelloFest
