Diverse Instrument Ensemble, one of the department's most creative and innovative groups, is open to all music majors by audition and/or consent of the director. The ensemble consists of a wide range of winds, brass and percussion, along with electric keyboards, and electric and amplified guitars. The ensemble performs reorchestrations, deconstructions and adaptations of a wide range of repertoire from the Middle Ages to the present. The Diverse-Instrument Ensemble is directed by critically acclaimed composer, performer, and video and installation artist Lloyd Rodgers.
