Erin Colwitz received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, her Master’s of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in choral music at the University of Southern California. Ms. Colwitz studied conducting with William Dehning, Magen Solomon, Kathy Romey and Claire McCoy. While at USC she was awarded a full teaching assistantship and conducted the Thornton Oriana Choir. As a professional singer, she sang and recorded with the Dale Warland Singers in performances with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and Minnesota Orchestra under the direction of Robert Shaw, Edo de Waart and Hugh Wolff. While a member the choir, the group received a Grammy nomination for their recording of Domenic Argento pieces. Currently, she is on the faculty at Cal State Fullerton conducting the Women’s Chorus. Ms. Colwitz is also director of music at St. Victor Catholic Church in West Hollywood.
