Betsy Olson has taught music for over 20 years. After graduating from California State University, Long Beach, Olson taught flute and piano for 14 years. She has been a music teacher in the La Habra City School District for the past 11 years. Her efforts in teaching music in La Habra earned her the La Habra Masonic Lodge Outstanding Educator Award in 2000 and again in 2003 for organizing the annual La Habra Middle School Chorus Invitational. The Orange County Teacher’s Federal Credit Union honored her with the Educator’s First Award in 2004. For the past four years Olsen has been the intermediate director for the Southern California Children’s Chorus based in Orange County. Olson teaches multiple subjects for undergraduate music education students at Cal State Fullerton.
