Pianist Rob Watson enjoys a musical career that spans both performance and higher education. While highly regarded as Professor of Piano and Keyboard Area Coordinator at Cal State Fullerton, he has also given numerous solo, chamber and concerto performances. He’s appeared in chamber concerts with the St. Petersburg String Quartet, and with members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Pacific Symphony and at the G. Verdi Conservatorio (Milan, Italy). His recordings appear on the Educo label, and include an award-winning performance of Kabalevsky’s Piano Sonata No. 2 in E-flat Major (International Recording Competition). His solo recitals include appearances in Bulgaria (2008), and formerly in England, Austria, Italy and Japan. With a penchant for international travel, Rob Watson has taken students on music study tours to Austria and Italy. Dr. Watson’s students have also soloed with professional orchestras. Among his former students are faculty members of University of Southern California, California State University, Dominguez Hills, Northwestern State University of Louisiana, Texas A & M (Corpus Christi), and community colleges in Southern California.
