Charles Sharp |
|
Charles Sharp, an expert and advocate of jazz and world music, has led an active academic and performing career. His performances from Southern California to the San Francisco Bay area encompass jazz, clarinet, saxophone and Chinese classical music. A member of the Chinese Classical Music Society, he has played a wide variety of Asian instruments including the Chinese dizi, xiao, guanzi, souna and others. Sharp is completing his doctoral dissertation at UCLA. Sharp has performed with many notable world master musicians from Hispanic, Malawi, Korean, Japanese and African cultures. He teaches jazz history and world music at Cal State Fullerton.
