As a solo pianist, Rob Watson is known for his imaginative and eclectic musical repertory. He has performed in, and created festivals and recitals, devoted to individual composers such as J. S. Bach, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Schubert, and an all-Viennese classical piano recital performed in the Haydn Saal at the Esterhazy Palace in Eisenstadt, Austria. Watson has presented “All American Piano Recitals” in such venues as Kings College, London and the University of Florence (Italy). As a collaborative pianist, he has performed with instrumentalists and singers in the U.S. and Europe. He is sought after as a clinician and has presented master classes in Japan, Italy and the United States. Watson holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Arizona where he was a student of Ozan Marsh. He has taught at Simpson College, Northwestern State University of Louisiana and is currently Professor of Music and keyboard area coordinator at Cal State Fullerton.
