Michael serves as the Senior Store Manager for Campus Dining at Starbucks, bringing more than 12 years of experience within the company. In recognition of his exemplary leadership, he was honored as the Starbucks Store Leader of the Quarter in February 2025, distinguishing himself among ten nominees from a pool of over 200 store leaders in the region.

Michael earned this prestigious recognition by consistently demonstrating excellence across key leadership criteria:

    • Creating a welcoming environment where warmth and belonging flourish for everyone
    • Demonstrating courage by challenging conventional approaches and fostering growth for both the company and team members
    • Maintaining genuine presence through transparent communication and interactions marked by dignity and respect

Lisa Collins

CSUF Administration & Finance Division MVP Award

Lisa Collins has exceeded expectations as Titan Shops' Staffing Coordinator since the position was created in summer 2022. She transformed a fragmented staffing approach into a streamlined, consistent process.

Key achievements include:

    • Implemented a scheduling application that reduced part-time staff needs by 30%
    • Created better visibility of staff availability and scheduling
    • Enabled staff to trade/pick-up shifts and access schedules via mobile app
    • Reduced email volume related to availability changes
    • Ensured only properly trained staff are eligible for specific shifts
    • Improved staff communication and centralized training materials

Additional responsibilities include payroll approvals, coordinating hiring processes, managing employment paperwork, and handling disciplinary follow-ups. Lisa also assists with store-wide inventory planning, employee manual updates, and security monitoring.

Her performance has provided consistency across operations while freeing managers and supervisors to focus on other tasks. In a short time as a full-time employee, Lisa has demonstrated leadership and commitment to excellent service.

"Stepping into a newly created position during a restructuring was quite challenging, but it provided me the opportunity to develop new methods and procedures, and shape the position to best serve Titan Shops' needs. I've had the chance to innovate and implement successful procedural changes such as launching a new scheduling program that better fits our operation and offers more convenience for our employees, while also using this program to effectively communicate with staff. It has required significant dedication, flexibility, and adaptation to succeed in this role, but it has also been an incredibly rewarding experience. Marco Polo Gutierrez

Outstanding Service Award | January 2025

Marco Polo Gutierrez was awarded the A&F Division Award for Outstanding Service for his dedicated service to Cal State Fullerton and Auxiliary Services. Marco Polo began his career with Auxiliary Services in 2001 in the Campus Dining department. His hard work and commitment to his role as Concessions Supervisor have received much praise from his supervisor, peers, and members of the community for his support of Athletics Concessions over the years.

As we all know, athletics schedules can change unexpectedly due to weather, final exams, and other factors, and sometimes events are scheduled at inconvenient times. However, Marco Polo has made it his mission to be available for athletics and other campus events to ensure that we are always ready to welcome and serve our community and guests, regardless of day or time. He has worked through late nights, last-minute schedule changes, and even in inclement weather and on holidays.

When not preparing or managing concessions for Athletics, Marco always supports his fellow managers wherever assistance is needed within Auxiliary Services, as he is a true team player.
