2009 Summary
Problems Found:
Checkpoint A, alternative text: Some design and decorative elements have descriptive rather than empty ALT tags. In addition, some graphic elements with text do not offer equivalent descriptions, including those for the top banner and the "services we provide" graphic.
Checkpoint C, color: Color contrast and brightness is not sufficient in the left-side menu:
- Foreground:#2A4E6B Background:#B3D3DE
- color difference:385/brightness difference:132
- The difference in brightness between the two colors is sufficient. The threshold is 125, and the result of the foreground and background colors is 132.
- The difference in color between the two colors is not sufficient. The threshold is 500, and the result of the foreground and background colors is 385.
The menu and graphic under the main picture also have similar contrast/brightness problems that need to be addressed.
Checkpoint G, simple tables: Layout tables do not have the "summary=" attribute. (This is a "best practice," not a "failure".)
Checkpoint O, skip links: There is no mechanism to skip groups of navigational links.
Evaluation: This page has minor problems that should be fairly easy to address. This page also has HTML header issues.
