2009 Summary

Problems Found:

Checkpoint A, text equivalents: With images disabled, many of the section headings are not readable.

Checkpoint C, color: The difference in the color in the headings is not sufficient:

  • Foreground:#FFFFFF Background:#66855F
  • color difference:435/brightness difference:136
  • The difference in brightness between the two colors is sufficient. The threshold is 125, and the result of the foreground and background colors is 136.
  • The difference in color between the two colors is not sufficient. The threshold is 500, and the result of the foreground and background colors is 435.

The color issue needs to be revisited throughout the page.

Checkpoint I, frames: The two iframes on the page need a title.

Checkpoint N, forms: The "search this site" box needs a <label> tag to go with the <input> tag.

Evaluation: Issues should be easy to resolve. This page also has HTML header issues.

2007 Summary

Problems Found:

Checkpoint L, scripts: When javascript is disabled, the "Library News and Information" box generates an accessible menu, but not all of the links are valid.

Checkpoint O, skip links: There is no way to skip each group of navigation links. Headings are used, however, to aid in navigation.

Evaluation: Repairs as outlined above should be fairly easy and not require much time.
