2009 Summary

Problems Found:

Checkpoint A, alternative text: Alternate text is missing for the map image.

Checkpoint C, color: There is an issue with the foreground and background colors in the left-side menu:

  • Foreground:#FFFFFF Background:#E18838
  • color difference:348/brightness difference:102
  • The difference in brightness between the two colors is not sufficient. The threshold is 125, and the result of the foreground and background colors is 102.
  • The difference in color between the two colors is not sufficient. The threshold is 500, and the result of the foreground and background colors is 348.

Also, the orange text on the white background is a problem:

  • Foreground:#FF6600 Background:#FFFFFF
  • color difference:408/brightness difference:119
  • The difference in brightness between the two colors is not sufficient. The threshold is 125, and the result of the foreground and background colors is 119.
  • The difference in color between the two colors is not sufficient. The threshold is 500, and the result of the foreground and background colors is 408.

Checkpoint O, skip links: There is no mechanism to skip groups of navigational links

Evaluation: Minor fixes need to be made.

 

2007 Summary

Problems Found:

Checkpoint A, alternative text: Some design and graphic elements have descriptive rather than empty ALT tags.

Checkpoint D, styles: With CSS disabled, menus with duplicate links appear. This is confusing.

Checkpoint L, scripts: With javascript disabled, all navigation menus disappear. There are no alternative means of navigation.

Checkpoint O, skip links: There is no mechanism to skip groups of navigational links.

Evaluation: CSS and javascript elements need to be reworked.
