About CAPS Mobile Crisis Team

CAPS Mobile Crisis Team is a collaboration with Counseling and Psychological Services and CSUF Police Department that provides support to provides support to CSUF currently enrolled students. The team is comprised of a C risis Response Clinician and Campus Safety Specialist.

 

Hours of Operation

Monday- Friday 11AM-7:30PM

 

What the Team Assists With:

· Responding to crisis/mental health emergencies on campus and surrounding community

· Providing direct mobile crisis interventions and stabilization

· Assessing level of risk for students on and around campus

· Case management and short-term therapeutic interventions

· Referrals to and consultation with on-campus and off-campus partners

· Involvement in campus crisis response

 

How to Access CAPS Mobile Crisis Team

In the event of a mental health crisis affecting you or another student in which you are unable to walk to or call CAPS, please call 911 for emergencies or (657) 278-3040 for 24 hour non-emergencies/questions.

 

Examples of Mental Health Crisis Include:

  • Within the last month I was physically or sexually assaulted.
  • Within the last month I have experienced a severe trauma (Examples include: a fire, earthquake, witnessed a death, was involved in a life-threatening car accident)
  • I am seeing or hearing things that others do not typically see or hear.
  • I am experiencing a mental health crisis so severe that I may need to be hospitalized.
  • I am in danger of seriously hurting and/or killing myself.
  • I am in danger of injuring, hurting, and/or killing someone else.
  • I am experiencing very severe distress, severe anxiety, or severe panic.
