The Career Center in collaboration with Health Professions Advising Office and Allied Health Academy presents Health Professions Exposed (HPE). HPE consists of a series of workshops designed to inform students about preparing, engaging, and succeeding in the health professions field.
How to be a Competitive Applicant

Writing a Health Professions Statement of Purpose

Preparation is key as you begin writing your health professions statement of purpose! This workshop will give you a step-by-step guide of what to do and what not to do when writing this significant statement.
A Day in the Life of an Epidemiologist

Hear it From Your Peers: How To Get Into Professional School

Are you thinking about applying to medical school, pharmacy school, or other health professions? Learn advice, insights and knowledge from students who have been through the process and have been accepted into health professions programs. Also learn about all of the services and resources the Health Professions Advising Office (HPAO) at CSUF offers. Towards the end of the session, you will have the opportunity to eat refreshments and mingle with the panelists and members of pre-health student organizations on campus.
Interviewing Strategies for Health Professions Schools

Why do you want to pursue a health profession and why should we accept you into our program? These are questions you need to be prepared to answer and this workshop will help you conquer the health professions school interview process. The workshop will discuss tips and strategies on how to prepare and what to expect from the interview process.
Get Involved with Cope Health Scholar Program
Tuesday, March 14th at 2:00pm-3:00pm (LH 210G)
A COPE representative will tell you more about the Health Scholar program, the role, how to be successful in the application process and more.
This program is the perfect opportunity to get hands on experience for those pursuing a career in healthcare. For those unsure, the program will allow you to see if health care is right for you. You will get the chance to interact with patients as well as the hospital staff; and will be trained in various skills such as feeding patients, bathing patients, checking vital signs, setting up basic equipment for procedures, and more! Upon graduation with 250 hours completed in the program, you will receive a Certificate of Pre-licensed Clinical Care and Patient Experience from UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
The program allows participants to rotate through many specialized units such as Pediatrics, Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit, Mother Baby Care Unit, Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Therapy, Rehab, GI Lab, Laboratory, Operating Room, Infection Control, Human Resources, etc.
