Goals of the Center
Attract and bring together faculty, students and other researchers with related interests.
Provide research training to the next generation of students in an interdisciplinary environment.
Develop interdisciplinary research and educational products.
Position members to generate external funding unique to the Center’s mission.
Engage in outreach and community building.
The Center is guided by a Steering Committee and an Advisory Board. The Steering Committee, composed of no more than eight faculty nominated by participating departments, will develop ideas and opportunities for interdisciplinary research and will work to form collaborations of a broad range of faculty and students to undertake these projects. The Advisory Board, consisting of representatives from industry, will advise the Center concerning its operations and will help identify possible funding for research activities.
The Center hosts a seminar series in which faculty and students, as well as external groups, can talk about their research and activities. The seminar provides a means to learn about research across the campus, and externally as well, and to explore possibilities for interdisciplinary projects.
Interested faculty members from the entire campus are invited to become members of the Center. If you have any inquires about the Center, please contact Professor Sam Behseta (firstname.lastname@example.org; extension 8560).
