Computer Cluster

The Center maintains a computer cluster. Below are some of the main features of the cluster. If you wish to have a user account on the cluster, please contact the director of the center, Professor Sam Behseta (Email: sbehseta@fullerton.edu | Phone: 657-278-8560).

8 compute nodes

  • Intel Xeon E5-2650 V2 Processors, 2.6 Ghz (10 cores each)
  • 64 GBs RAM (3.2 GBs/core), DDR3-1600
  • 1 TB Enterprize SATA hard drive
  • QDR Infiniband interconnect

2 higher performance compute nodes

  • Intel Xeon E5-2650 V2 Processors, 2.6 Ghz (8 cores each)
  • 256 GBs RAM (16 GBs/core), DDR3-1600
  • 3 TB Enterprize SATA hard drive
  • QDR Infiniband interconnect

Head node

  • Intel Xeon E5-2640 V2 Processors, 2.0 Ghz (8 cores each)
  • 32 GBs RAM (4 GBs/core), DDR3-1600
  • 4 TB Enterprize hard drive; 24 TB net storage, RAID-6
  • QDR Infiniband interconnect

Research Groups

CCAM encourages and supports research groups campus-wide that are concerned with the computational sciences.

CSUF and UCI Statistical and Computational Research in Neuroscience. This research collaboration is joint with UCI. At CSUF, the research is under the guidance of Professor S. Behseta and Professor R. Ramezan.

Gravitational Wave Physics and Astronomy Center. This center is directed by Professor J. Smith, Professor J. Read, and Professor G. Lovelace, and is located in MH 601. Currently, Professor J. Der of the Department of Biological Sciences is also working in the center, pursuing reseach in computational bioinformatics. Professor Der shares their interest in high performance computing (HPC), and it has been helpful for his students to work alongside those in GWPAC.
