What is America Reads and Counts (ARC)? ARC is a program of the Center for Internships & Community Engagement at Cal State Fullerton (CSUF), designed to improve the reading and math skills of 6th – 12th grade students by way of on-site tutoring. ARC Tutors are placed in middle schools and afterschool programs under the guidance of classroom teachers or afterschool program staff. What does the ARC Tutor do? The goal of an ARC tutor is to provide extra direction and one-on-one attention to students in math and reading in order to better prepare them to succeed in school. ARC Tutors are paid at a rate of $10.00/hour and are employed as part-time employees of the Center for Internships & Community Engagement. An Assistant Coordinator position is also available. What are the benefits of being an ARC Tutor? Participation provides many benefits. You are invited to join your peers who are tutoring our future generations.
What are the requirements to become an ARC Tutor? In order to be a ARC Tutor, you must have a desire to teach children and fulfill the following requirements:
