Service-learning is a teaching methodology, which utilizes service experiences in the community as text for learning in the classroom. Local non-profits and schools serve as co-educators and provide real world learning situations for students to meet unmet community needs. Service-learning activities inform, clarify, illustrate and stimulate additional thought about academic topics covered in the classroom, as well as encourage students to develop or strengthen a habit of service and social responsibility to the community. At California State University, Fullerton students enrolled in service-learning courses have the option of participating in service-learning, by engaging in up to 40 hours of service per semester, to meet unmet community needs. Almost every major at Cal State Fullerton offers service-learning. General Site Guidelines:
