Training is scheduled to begin the week of July 25th for Central
Units and August 9th for Pilot Departments.

Pilot review and testing sessions for distributed functionality
(part-time faculty and student worker) were conducted and centralized
system testing is in-process.

The CMS Security Committee validated the process for requesting
and granting access to the CMS HR application for self service,
distributed functionality and centralized functionality. The process
fulfills the increased security measures identified in CSU Memorandum
dated March 15, 2004.

The Faculty Processing Business Process Design Overview was reviewed
by the HR Project Management Team and the process was approved
by Katina Napper, John Lynn and Amir Dabirian.

The part-time faculty hiring process was standardized with the
contract being created from CMS instead of an informed filler
document.

A presentation on “What can I expect from CMS on ... August
10, August 18, September 2005 – January 2006” and
a demo of the part-time faculty hiring process was given to the
Council of Deans.
Finance
-
Slow down of Finance implementation in mid-June to mid-August
due to year-end constraints.

The CMS Finance Management Team has been established with the
following members: Amir Dabirian, Michelle Totten and Joe Luzzi
(CMS Project Office), Laleh Graylee (Lead), Brian Jenkins (Finance),
Willem van der Pol (Facilities Management), Karen Wall (Budget),
Carmen Peak (Contracts & Procurement), Cecilia Patz (Accounting),
May Wong (Accounts Payable) and John Lynn (Human Resources).

Recruitment for Finance business analyst positions is in-process
-
Financial Overview and COA sessions have been conducted for each
division.

Preliminary chartfield definition developed (Department, Fund,
Account, Program, Class, Project).
Student
-
The CMS Steering Committee approved the appointment of the following
additional CMS Steering Committee members for representation of
the Student application: Susan Kachner, Nancy Dority, Harry Norman
and two student representatives.

The CMS Student Management Team has been established with the
following members: Amir Dabirian, Michelle Totten and Joe Luzzi
(CMS Project Office), Susan Kachner (Lead), Nancy Dority and Maria
Mezhinsky (Admissions & Records), Sylvia Alva (Academic Advising),
Deborah McCracken (Financial Aid), Mark Lopez (Student Financials)
and Harry Norman (Extended Education).

Fact gathering and initial planning is in-process for the Student
implementation with teleconferences and meetings being conducted
with the CMS Central and other CSU campuses on implementation
approaches and lessons learned.

Tom Enders, Associate VP of Enrollment Services and CMS Student
Implementation Chair at CSULB, conducted a CMS Academic Advising
workshop and a CMS General workshop on communication, training,
help desk, security and reporting at CSUF on June 29th.
