About the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Program
The revitalized Assistant Dean for Student Affairs program at Cal State Fullerton represents a collaborative partnership between the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Affairs. Designed to bridge academic and student support services, this initiative places a dedicated Assistant Dean within each of the university’s eight academic colleges: Arts; Business & Economics; Communications; Education; Engineering & Computer Science; Health & Human Development; Humanities & Social Sciences; and Natural Sciences & Mathematics.
Assistant Deans serve as pivotal resources for student success. They provide non-clinical support for students experiencing academic or personal challenges, coordinate college-based scholarship processes, and advise Inter-Club Councils and student organizations. They also serve as liaisons between faculty, students, and campus resources, helping to foster a more inclusive, supportive academic environment.
Students can contact their college’s Assistant Dean if they need guidance navigating university systems, referrals to support services, help resolving academic conflicts, or leadership development through co-curricular involvement. Assistant Deans apply a comprehensive approach to ensure that every Titan feels connected, supported, and empowered.
As of summer 2025, eight new Assistant Deans have been appointed. They have participated in specialized training with the Dean of Students Office and Care Services as well as with Student Life & Leadership to facilitate seamless integration into their roles and readiness to support students and student organizations alike.
This partnership between Student Affairs and Academic Affairs reflects Cal State Fullerton’s ongoing commitment to holistic student success, campus belonging, and academic excellence. For more information, please email deanofstudents@fullerton.edu.
