Accommodations for Commencement
Accommodations for graduates and guests with disabilities will be available for all Commencement ceremonies. Below are the services that will be available:
Disabled Person Parking
Individuals with a DMV issued disabled person parking placard or license plate will be directed to park in Lot I or at the State College Parking Structure. For the campus map, please go to the Parking and Transportation Services website.
Courtesy shuttle service will be available on a limited basis beginning at 7 a.m. on the days of Commencement. Golf cart-style shuttles run along a designated route around the perimeter of the campus with stops at the tented shuttle stops along the way. Because this service is limited, abled guests are encouraged to walk so that shuttles can be reserved for guests with disabilities.
Wheelchairs and Accessible Seating
All Commencement venues are wheelchair accessible but since there may be significant distances between the parking areas and the venues, guests are encouraged to bring their wheelchair if it is available to them. A limited amount of manual wheelchairs will be available for loan, at no charge, around the campus and ushers will be present at all Commencement venues to assist with accessible seating.
Accommodations such as sign language interpreters, printed materials in accessible format, and other special accommodations will also be available. For these special accommodations, please complete the Request for Accommodation form. Advance notice is important to ensure accessibility so please complete and submit this form by Wednesday, May 10, 2017.
