Accessible Furniture Accommodations

All accessible furniture accommodations are arranged and provided through DSS in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Accessible classroom furniture or reserved seating (e.g., front of the classroom or close to an exit) will only be provided to approved students who are registered with DSS.

If authorized a furniture accommodation, you are responsible for submitting your furniture requests with DSS at least 3 weeks before the beginning of each semester (Fall, Intersession, Spring, Summer).

If a furniture request is made after the start of the semester, there may be a 7 to 10 business day delay in the delivery of furniture to the classroom.

Faculty is asked to return chairs, table and other equipment to their original locations at the end of each class, if moved.

DSS has the following types of furniture available:

·         Wheelchair-accessible desks/tables

·         Height adjustable tables

·         Specialty chairs
