Accessible Furniture Accommodations
All accessible furniture accommodations are arranged and provided through the Disability Support Services office in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Non-standard classroom furniture or reserved seating (e.g., front of the classroom or close to an exit) will only be provided for disability related reasons to students who are registered with DSS.
If authorized a furniture accommodation, you are responsible for submitting your furniture requests with DSS at least 3 weeks before the beginning of each semester (Fall, Intersession, Spring, Summer).
If a furniture request is made after the start of the semester, there may be a 1 week delay or more in the delivery of furniture to the classroom.
Faculty is asked to return chairs, table and other equipment to their original locations at the end of each class, if moved.
DSS has the following types of furniture available:
- Wheelchair-accessible desks/tables
- Height adjustable tables
- Padded & adjustable chairs
- Specialty chairs
All furniture accommodation requests can be made by submitting a completed Accessible Furniture Request Form to email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org, or turned in to the DSS Front Office in UH-101.
