Student Tutorial for Requesting Notetaking Services

Requests for notetaking services can be submitted through the TITANable Notetaking Services website. Follow the steps below to submit a request, review sample notes, select a notetaker, and to download class notes as they become available.  Begin by logging into TITANable and going to the Notetaking Services website in the steps below:

1. Using your student campus username and password, go to the DSS Student Login web page

2. Select the Notetaking Services link

REQUESTING NOTETAKING SERVICES

To request a notetaker for one or more of your classes:

  1. Select the Courses/notes link

2. On the next page, select the correct term to display your courses

3. In the I require a notetaker column, select the change this link that corresponds to the course you would like to request a notetaker

VIEWING SAMPLE NOTES

Sample notes will not be available until you request notetaking services for a course and until a prospective notetaker uploads a sample notes file.

To view sample notes for a course you are requesting a notetaker:

  1. Go to the Courses/notes page
  2. In the My lecture notes column, select the Notes link that corresponds to the course you would like to view sample notes

3. On the next page, in the Download column, select the View notes link (the sample notes file is usually the first link)

SELECTING A NOTETAKER

To select a notetaker, first, ensure that you have requested notetaking services for the course you would like a notetaker (see the instructions above to do so). Also, in the Note taker availability column, you will not be able to select a notetaker if the status None are available at this time is shown. After you have requested notetaking services and at least one prospective notetaker is available, follow the steps below to select a notetaker:

  1. Go to the Courses/notes page
  2. In the Note taker availability column, click on the select a notetaker link that corresponds to the course you would like to request a notetaker

3. On the next page, in the Action column, if only one notetaker is shown, select the Choose this notetaker link. If there are multiple notetakers available, then select the Choose this notetaker link next to the notetaker you would like to select

DOWNLOADING NOTES

To view notes from your notetaker, first, ensure that you have requested notetaking services and selected a notetaker for the course. Then,

  1. Go to the Courses/notes page
  2. In the My lecture notes column, select the Notes link that corresponds to the course you would like to download notes

3. On the next page, select the View notes link that corresponds to the lecture date you would like to download notes

4. Open the file to view the notes or save it to your computer

CANCELING NOTETAKING SERVICES

To cancel a notetaker for one or more of your classes,

  1. Go to the Courses/notes page
  2. In the I require a notetaker column, select the change this link that corresponds to the course you would like to cancel a notetaker

3. On the next page, specify the reason for canceling your notetaking services request for the class you selected and select the Confirm button
