Why study Engineering or Computer Science?
Think about how innovations like electricity, computers, and space travel have changed our world. As an engineer or computer scientist, you will create exciting technology to move the world even further. Also, your future career as an engineer or computer scientist will be bright. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, "competitive pressures and advancing technology will force companies to improve and update product designs and to optimize their manufacturing processes. Employers will rely on engineers to further increase productivity as investment in plant and equipment increases to expand output of goods and services." For computer scientists, "employment is expected to increase much faster than the average as organizations continue to adopt increasingly sophisticated technologies." Additionally, starting salaries in engineering and computer science are significantly higher than those of college graduates in other fields.

Why study Engineering or Computer Science at Cal State Fullerton?
Quality teaching is our highest priority. ECS students are taught by professors with outstanding credentials in classes small enough to allow for personal attention. We strive to provide just the right balance of theory and practice, teaching the fundamentals of your discipline and applying them to real-world situations. Our laboratories will allow you to design electronic circuits, earthquake-safe buildings, computer components, or robotics. Internships provide you with connections to potential employers while building skills for your resume. At Cal State Fullerton, our undergraduate students in Engineering and Computer Science have performed research with faculty on projects such as fiber optic sensors and Global Positioning Systems. Our extracurricular activities include student chapters of professional organizations for every major and special interest group. Finally, our CASECS program provides a study center, tutoring, academic counseling, scholarships, and professional development opportunities for all Engineering and Computer Science students. When it is time to take a break from studying, you will love our Southern California location, where you can spend your weekends relaxing at the beach, skiing in the mountains, enjoying the attractions at Disneyland, or cheering on the world-champion Anaheim Angels.
