Become a Scholar
There are approximately 40 students participation in the Guardian Scholars Program at Cal State Fullerton. Guardian Scholars come from various counties across California including Orange County, San Diego, Riverside County, Los Angeles, Kern County, Imperial Valley, and Monterrey County.
By becoming a Guardian Scholar at Cal State Fullerton, former foster youth get the opportunity to engage and connect with a support system comprised of internal and external advocates that encourage them to reach their full academic and personal potential.
By taking part in program events and activities, committing to academic success, and developing supportive relationships with faculty, staff, and other students, Guardian Scholars have found that they have the tools that are necessary to become successful, independent, and productive young adults.
In addition, Guardian Scholars are supported by caring and understanding staff members who empower and encourage them to never give up. Obtaining a college degree can be challenging, but with a support system in place, anything is possible.
