CSUF will soon have an early acceptance program to a new dental school program at LECOM.  This program will be similar to those we currently have in place with LECOM for the DO  and PharmD linkages.  

Lake  Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) recently announced the 2012 opening of the LECOM School of Dental Medicine in connection with the Bradenton, FL campus.  Students may begin the application process to become a member of the inaugural class by filling out the ADEA AADSAS application that can be found at www.ADEA.ORG.  Additional information about LECOM’s Dental Medicine program and the unique patient-centered curriculum can be found on the website at http://lecom.edu/school-dental-medicine.php/lecom-school-of-dental-medicine-to-open-in-2012/76/0/3108/20394 .

Who is eligible to apply?

1. All CSUF undergraduate students who have completed Bio 172, 273, Chem 120A, 120B and Math 130 or 150A will be eligible to apply to this program (In some cases equivalent classes from other institutions may be accepted). 2. Students enrolled in the CSUF Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Health Professions Certificate are eligible to be considered once they have completed Bio 172, Chem 120A and a Math class.

Application Deadline

The completed application form and letters of reference should be submitted by December 16, 2011 for full consideration. Supporting material, including a transcript or TDA showing Fall 2010 grades must be submitted by January 6, 2012.


George Washington University (MD Linkage)GWU
This is only for Postbaccalaureate Certificate students who would apply in the November of their first semester.

Requirements to apply:
1) An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or above.
2) PBUG Application with 3.5 minimum G.P.A. and with no science grade below B-
3) Letters of Reference (one must be from an MD)
4) All Official College Transcripts - indicating G.P.A.’s
5) SAT Scores (any other college level standard tests taken)
6) Essay regarding interest in The George Washington University School of Medicine

Linkage program requirements:
1) Support of the Health Professions Committee at CSUF.
2) Recommendation (following interview) of Admissions Committee at The George Washington University SOM.
3) Accepted candidates must complete all of their academic work in the Post-Baccalaureate Program at California State University, Fullerton and maintain a 3.5 grade point average in that program.
4) All accepted candidates must take the MCATs by January of the intended matriculation year and earn a total of 30. One subtest can be 9 (no lower).


Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona (DO Linkage)Western University
Undergraduates are eligible to apply after completing two semesters of General Chemistry and General Biology and one semester of calculus. Postbaccalaureate Certificate students would apply in the November of their first semester.

Requirements to apply:
1) Minimum grades of B+ in science classes.
2) At least 8 hours of shadowing a DO.
3) Undergraduates should have an overall GPA of 3.3.
4) Essay regarding interest in the DO program at WesternU

Linkage program requirements:
1) Support of the Health Professions Committee at CSUF.
2) Recommendation (following interview) of Admissions Committee at WesternU. Maintain overall science GPA of 3.3.
3) MCATs total 24 or above (no score below 8) must be completed by January of the intended matriculation year.


Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (DO linkage) LECOM
There are two campuses with which CSUF has linkages:

The Erie, Pennsylvania campus offers three learning pathways (traditional Lecture-Discussion Pathway, small-group, Problem-Based Learning Pathway, or the self-learning Independent Study Pathway) while Bradenton, Florida students enroll in Problem Based Learning. LECOM Erie also offers the Primary Care Scholars Pathway designed to attract more students to primary care and family medicine by condensing four years of medical education into three years.

Undergraduates are eligible to apply after completing two semesters of General Chemistry and General Biology and one semester of calculus. Postbaccalaureate Certificate students would apply in the November of their first semester. Students can apply to only one campus.

Requirements to apply:
1) Minimum grades of B+ in science classes.
2) At least 8 hours of shadowing a DO.
3) Undergraduates should have an overall GPA of 3.3.
4) Essay regarding interest in the DO program at LECOM

Linkage program requirements:
1) Support of the Health Professions Committee at CSUF.
2) Recommendation (following interview) of Admissions Committee at LECOM. Maintain overall science GPA of 3.3.
3) MCATs total 25 or above (no score below 8) must be completed by April of the intended matriculation year.


PharmD at LECOM School of Pharmacy (PharmD linkage)
There are two campuses with which CSUF has linkages:
