Benefiting CSUF Students of the Abrego Future Scholars Program

Monday, April 17, 2017

Even though Hispanics are the nation's largest and fastest-growing ethnic group, their college graduation rates remain the nation's lowest. With a current enrollment of over 30% Latino students, California State University, Fullerton prides itself on meeting the needs of our community and reflecting the diversity of Orange County. We are also committed to and recognized for our ability to graduate our students.

Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education now ranks Cal State Fullerton No. 1 in California and No. 5 in the nation for awarding baccalaureate degrees to Hispanics, and Diverse Issues in Higher Education ranks Cal State Fullerton No. 4 in the nation for baccalaureate degrees awarded to minority students.

In order to reach their academic and career goals, students need additional help.

"It is through higher education that we not only lift millions out of poverty into the middle class for themselves and the future generations of their families, but it is also the engine that catapults individuals to become our leaders, our scientists, our professionals and our innovators for the future."
- CSUF President Mildred García

The Hispanic Scholarship Golf Tournament benefits Cal State Fullerton students of the Abrego Future Scholars Program. This enabled us to provide more than 60 Latino students with scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,500 and contribute to our endowment, which ensures scholarships will be available to Latino students at Cal State Fullerton in perpetuity.

Help us to invest in our future.
