Achieve a 3.5 grade point average in college
preparatory course work in grades 10, 11 and the first semester of your senior year in high school. |

Complete a written application*,
including two essays, for the Honors Program. |
| |
Provide two letters of reference. |
| |
Include a copy of your high school transcript with your application (unofficial transcript is acceptable) |
| |
Are committed to academic excellence, creativity, and critical thinking. |

Year One - 6 units |

Required one-year seminar fulfilling Critical Thinking and Oral Communications general education requirements |

Required one-year seminar fulfilling either American History, Institutions, and Values or World Civilization general education requirements |

To maintain eligibility, students must abide by the following expectations:

Year 1: Complete a minimum of six Honors units and earn a cumulative GPA of 3.0. |
| |
Year 2: Complete a minimum of six Honors units and earn a cumulative GPA of 3.3. Students must also attend the mandatory Sophomore Retreat scheduled in May |
| |
Year 3: complete a minimum of five honors units including Honors 300A/B and earn a cumulative GPA consistent with academic expectations. Students must also participate in mandatory colloquium activities. |
| |
Year 4: Complete a minimum of seven Honors units including Honors 300A/B and 497 and earn a cumulative GPA of 3.5. students must also participate in mandatory colloquium activates. |
Ongoing expectations:

Continuous enrollment in Honors Courses each semester |
| |
Initiate communication with the directors regarding any challenges or circumstances that prevent students from complying with expectations. |
Failure to comply with eligibility requirements/expectations may result in loss of privileges and/or dismissal from the program

Applications are due on February 28 for fall admission to the program. For priority consideration, please submit all materials by January 30.
