RA Application Goes Live

After you have decided if the RA experience is the right one for you, applying for the position is the next step. You will be able to apply on-line. A completed application packet consists of the on-line application, your personal statement, a copy of your resume, and two letters of recommendations. Your application and personal statement are to be completed on-line. Your resume may be emailed to raapplication@fullerton.edu, faxed to (657) 278-3994, or dropped off to the Housing & Residence Life Office. Your recommendation forms will be submitted to the Housing Office.

Recommendation Forms

Each reference should be in a sealed envelope. Place both references in a manila envelope and clearly label it with your first and last names. The manila envelope is due to Juan or Derrick in the Housing office by Noon on February 17, 2012.

Application Packet Due Date

For your application to be complete, the RA Selection committee must have received ALL the following by Noon on February 17, 2012: (Late submissions will not be accepted)
1.   The on-line RA Application,
2.   Short Answer questions submitted on-line,
3.   A Copy of Your Resume submitted via email to raapplication@fullerton.edu, Fax: (657)278-3994, or dropped off the Housing & Residence Life Office.
4.   Two letters of Recommendations submitted to Juan or Derrick in the Housing Office

Group Process Interviews

Upon receipt of your RA Application Packet, the Selection Committee will review its contents and perform a grade check to ensure you meet the minimum requirements. The Selection Committee will contact you via your CSU email, to inform you of their decision regarding your candidacy. If the Selection Committee is interested in your candidacy, you will be invited to attend a Group Process Interview, which will be attended by other candidates as well, and an individual interview. At the Group Process Interview, you will be divided into smaller sub-groups and given activities to complete. Current RA's and other selected guest evaluators will be assessing you on your ability to work as a group member, and your conflict resolution skills. The interviews will be held on March 7, 2012 for approximately two hours. Based on your preferences on your application, the Selection Committee will inform you of your scheduled interview time. No late arrivals will be admitted.

Individual Interviews

Upon receipt of your RA Application Packet, the Selection Committee will review its contents and perform a grade check to ensure you meet the minimum requirements. The Selection Committee will contact you via email, to inform you of their decision regarding your candidacy. If the Selection Committee is interested in your candidacy, you will be invited to attend an Individual Interview. During the one hour individual interview time frame, you will have two sets of 30 minute interviews with Housing Staff, current RAs, and invited guest interviewers. You will be asked some questions which will assess your understanding, preparedness and desire for the RA position. At the end of the interview, you will be given an opportunity to ask questions of the interviewers. No late arrivals will be admitted.

Hiring Notifications


Letters of notification will be mailed to candidates informing them of whether they are accepted or rejected by March 22, 2012. Letters will be sent to the campus address or the mailing address listed (if no campus address is available). Candidates who have been hired will be invited to attend the Orientation for the 2012-2013 RA Staff on Friday, May 4, 2012.

April 2, 2012
Acceptance letter due


Candidates who have been offered the RA position must indicate to Juan or Derrick in writing that they would like to accept the position on or before 5PM on April 8, 2012.
