Information Sessions - MANDATORY to Attend One Information
Session
March 2, 3, 11, and 12 @ 6:00PM
Cypress Hall Multi-Purpose Room
There will be four Information Sessions held to provide applicants
with information about the selection process and what it takes
to be an RA. At each session, we will use a PowerPoint presentation
to address the requirements of the RA position and important dates,
provide info on how the position may affect your financial aid
eligibility, be available to answer your individual questions,
and give you the opportunity to ask questions of current RA’s.
Information Sessions are MANDATORY. You must attend an info session
in order to apply.
The Information Sessions will be held on March 2, 3, 11,
and 12 @ 6:00PM in the Cypress Hall Multi-Purpose Room. |

Application Packet
March 27, 2009
Housing Office
After you have decided if the RA experience is the right one for
you, applying for the position is the next step. You will be able
to apply on-line. The RA Application will be available after you
view the PowerPoint presentation preceding it. You will receive
an email confirming the receipt of your application, personal
statement and resume. In the email, there will be an attachment
of a reference form. Please print it out, have it completed by
your references and turn it in to the Housing Office or fax it
to the Housing Office by the March 27, 2009 deadline. You will
need two references. For your application to be complete, in
addition
to the items submitted online (1) the RA Application, (2) Your
Personal Statement, (3) A Copy of Your Resume, you will need to
submit or fax two letters of recommendation to the Housing Office
on or before Friday, March 27, 2009 at 12noon to the Housing Office. |
Group
Process Interviews
April 17, 2009 @ 10am – 1pm OR 2pm – 5pm
Cypress Hall Multi-Purpose Room
Upon receipt of your RA Application Packet, the Selection Committee
will review its contents and perform a grade check to ensure you
meet the minimum requirements. The Selection Committee will contact
you via email, to inform you of their decision regarding your
candidacy. If the Selection Committee is interested in your candidacy,
you will be invited to attend a Group Process Interview, which
will be attended by other candidates as well. At the Group Process
Interview, you will be divided into smaller sub-groups and given
activities to complete. Current RA’s and other selected
guest evaluators will be assessing you on your ability to work
as a group member, and your conflict resolution skills. You must
choose one of the dates on which to attend the Group Process Interview.
You will be able to sign up at the RA Office to attend the interview
of your choice. The interviews will be held on April 17, 2009 @ 10am – 1pm OR 2pm – 5pm in the Cypress Hall
Multi-Purpose Room. No late arrivals will be admitted. |
Individual
Interviews
April 27 - May 7, 2009
RA Office
The Selection Committee will be reviewing the evaluations you
received at the Group Process Interviews. The Selection Committee
will contact you via email, to inform you of their decision regarding
your candidacy. If they are interested in your continued candidacy,
you will be invited to participate in an Individual Interview.
You will be able to choose a half hour time block for the interview
by calling or visiting the RA Office. The Residential Community
Coordinator and two current RA’s will be conducting the
interview. During that half hour, you will be asked some questions
which will assess your understanding, preparedness and desire
for the RA position. At the end of the interview, you will be
given an opportunity to ask questions of the interviewers. |
Hiring
Notifications
May 8, 2009
Letters of notification will be mailed to candidates informing
them of whether they are accepted or rejected on Friday, May 8,
2009. Letters will be sent to the campus address or the mailing
address listed (if no campus address is available). Candidates
who have been hired will be invited to attend the Orientation
for the 2009-2010 RA Staff. |
Orientation
May 14, 2009
Cypress Hall Multi-Purpose Room
The RA Staff of 2009-2010 will have the chance to meet each other
as well as the current RA staff. They will become acquainted with
their co-workers, receive instructions on what to do over the
summer in preparation for the position, and they will have dinner
together. This event is very important in setting the stage for
a successful year and is MANDATORY. The RA Orientation will be
held on Thursday, May 14, 2009 from 5pm-6pm in the Cypress Hall
Multi-Purpose Room. |
