Program Services
To ensure that participants are successful and reach their full potential in high school and in college, Upward Bound provides the following services and activities:
- Academic advising
- Tutoring
- College preparatory workshops
- Financial aid advising
- Financial aid application assistance
- Career advising and events
- Post secondary planning and selection
- Post secondary application assistance
- College entrance examination (SAT, ACT) information and preparation
- Campus tours and visits
- Cultural enrichment activities
- Summer Residential Program
- Parent information sessions
The Upward Bound Program at California State University, Fullerton is 100% federally funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
Eligibility
Students who are interested in applying for admission to the Upward Bound Program must meet U.S. Department of Education eligibility criteria:
- U.S Citizen or permanent resident
- At least 13 years of age
- Graduated from the 8th grade
- Meet federal income eligibility
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Potential first generation college student (first in their family to attend college)
- Attend any of the four Santa Ana Unified District High Schools: Saddleback, Santa Ana, Century or Valley
