Richard D. Boucher, M.D., Chief Staff Physician, has been with the Student Health and Counseling Center since December 1996. He was previously in private family practice for 13 years in Long Beach, CA. He obtained his medical degree from The Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico in 1978. Dr. Boucher is board certified in Family Medicine.

Son Do, M.D., Physician and Lab Director, has been with the Student Health and Counseling Center since August 1983. He was previously in private practice, general medicine. Dr. Do received his medical degree from University of Saigon, Saigon, Vietnam, in 1973. Dr. Do is board certified in Pathology, and serves as director of the laboratory in the Student Health and Counseling Center.

Lauren Vu, M.D., Physician, has been on staff at SHCC since April 2008. Prior to that she was practicing Internal Medicine with a multispecialty medical group in the South Bay area. Dr. Vu obtained her medical degree from the Oregon Health Sciences University, School of Medicine. She completed her residency at University of California, Irvine Medical Center. Dr Vu is board certified in Internal Medicine.

Sina Firouzi, M.D., Physician, has been working as a staff physician at the Student Health and Counseling Center since June 2008. He received his medical degree from the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine, in 2003. He previously worked as a family medicine physician for a multi-specialty group in Orange County. Dr. Firouzi is board certified in Family Medicine.

Melissa Fassbinder, Family Nurse Practitioner, has been with the Student Health and Counseling Center since January 2011. She received her Family Nurse Practitioner, Master of Science Degree from UCLA. She has had extensive experience in  the University setting working at both Riverside Community College and Chaffey College. Prior to that she worked at Kaiser Permanente and in a private Family Practice setting. Her teaching experience, providing clinical instruction to graduate nursing students, has been at both Loma Linda University and California State University, Long Beach. She speaks fluent Japanese and loves working with college students.

Patricia Catanzaro, Family Nurse Practitioner, is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach, obtaining a Masters in Nursing in 1995. Pat joined the Student Health and Counseling Center in 2005. She has previous experience working in a variety of health care settings. Pat is currently a part-time faculty member of graduate students enrolled in the UCI/California State University, Fullerton Nurse Practioner Program.

Lashawn Green, Family Nurse Practitioner, started at the Student Health and Counseling Center in January 2013. She has worked at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Planned Parenthood and in a private Family Practice setting. She received her Family Nurse Practitioner Master’s Degree at California State University, Los Angeles.

Roxane Perez, Family Nurse Practitioner, is an alum of CSUF with her BSN degree. She has worked at St Jude, UCI and, most recently, at Minute Clinic. Roxane completed her Family Nurse Practitioner Master’s Degree Program at University of California, Irvine.

Miguel Prietto M.D., Orthopedic Surgeon, has been with the Student Health and Counseling Center since January 1999. He also has a private practice in Orange. Dr. Prietto received his medical degree from University of California, Irvine, in 1978, and completed his orthopedic residency in 1983.

Michael Wu, M.D., Psychiatrist, has been working with the Student Health and Counseling Center since November 2006. He obtained his medical degree from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and completed his psychiatry residency at University of California, Irvine. Dr. Wu is interested in psychopharmacology, cognitive-behavioral therapy, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and bipolar disorder. He is board certified in Psychiatry.
