2021-2022 Q1 Report

Description
Diversity Initiatives and Resource Centers (DIRC):
  • Support Staff: Continue to support student salaries (undergraduate and graduate students) for the 5 resource centers (TDRC, LCRC, AARC, APARC and LGBTQRC) and students within the department (DIRC). In addition, contribute to the professional staff salaries for the coordinators.
  • Programming:  Continue to support programming for each center and the department, which includes, but is not limited to, welcome events, community engagement events, collaborative workshops, and cultural graduate recognition ceremonies. Each of the 5 centers and the department is hosting a number of in person and virtual events throughout the academic year. Giveaways will be utilized at some of the events to encourage engagement. Additionally, high profile speakers will be invited to participate when possible.

 

Student Life and Leadership (SLL):
  • Staff Support: Support the salaries for the graduate assistants within Fraternity & Sorority Life, Community Service Programs, and Student Organizations along with student assistants to support the overall mission of Student Life & Leadership.
  • Programming:   Support various programs and services that support, educate, and advocate for many students and student organizations involved with Student Life & Leadership’s programmatic areas, which includes, but is not limited to, LeadCon for Student Organizations, New Member Education for new Fraternity & Sorority members, Fraternity & Sorority Presidents’ meetings/retreats, Sport Clubs Concussion Training, and Community Service Projects.
  • Campus Events: Support large-scale annual events that enhance the Titan Experience for the entire campus, such as Social Justice Summit, Tuffy Awards, Titan Resource Fair, and Discoverfest.

 

WoMen's and Adult Reentry Center (WARC):
  • Staff Support: Continue support of Adult Reentry Coordinator and WARC Graduate Assistant.
  • Programming:  Continue to support programming for Women's Center and Adult Reentry Center programming, which includes, but is not limited to, welcome events, community engagement events, collaborative workshops, Athena House (HRE Floor), and Womxn’s History Month events. The WARC will be hosting both in-person and virtual events throughout the academic year. Giveaways will be utilized at some of the events to encourage engagement. 
Highlights
Diversity Initiatives and Resource Centers:

27 programs were held during Q1. Below is the breakdown for each center:

  • 6 programs were hosted through the AARC.  
    • The AARC had a total of 195 participants during that time.
  • 3 programs were hosted through the APARC.  
  • 3 programs were hosted through the LGBTQRC. 
    • QRC had 80 participants in programming during that period
  • 7 programs were hosted through the LCRC.  
    • LCRC had a total of 115 participants
  • 9  programs were hosted through the TDRC.  
    • TDRC has had 213 participants - this includes open house (63 attendees) and a virtual event hosted on Instagram (62 attendees)

  • 4 virtual concussion trainings for registered sports clubs
  • Campus Events: Support large-scale annual events that enhance the Titan Experience for the entire campus Tuffy Awards and Discoverfest

 

WoMen's and Adult Reentry Center:
  • 94 total unique students engaged with a DIRC program during Q1. 
Staff & Facilities Support Diversity Initiatives and Resource Centers:
  • A total of 36 student salaries were supported during Q1. Below is the breakdown of student staffing in DIRC during Q1:
    • 4 student staff in the AARC
    • 5 student staff in APARC
    • 4 student staff in DIRC general
    • 5 student staff in the LCRC
    • 5 student staff in the LGBTQRC
    • 1 student staff in the TDRC
    • 12 students do not have a department listed 
  • Support professional staff salaries for the 6 coordinators (includes Nate who is no longer working at DIRC)
WoMen's and Adult Reentry Center:
  • Continued funding for WARC Graduate assistant and the adult reentry coordinator
