Building More Trauma-Informed Campus Spaces – for both students and employees

This introductory Zoom session hosted by Title IX and Gender Equity is open to all CSUF students and employees. Participants will learn about the core principles of trauma-informed practices that each of us can use to create more welcoming and trauma-informed spaces, both in person and online. Participants will leave the session empowered to reframe their perspective, acknowledge the varied needs of others, and make meaningful, trauma-informed changes in how they engage with others. Denim Day – for everyone

11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., with Walk for Change taking place from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Titan Walk
Denim Day takes place each year as part of SAAM on the last Wednesday of April. This annual event is an important and visible SAAM event for everyone. Hosted by TitanTHRIVE, this year’s Denim Day provides an opportunity for you take pictures for social media wearing denim to show solidarity with survivors at the Solidarity Photo Booth throughout the event, and join Walk for Change from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Come learn how sexual violence impacts CSUF communities.

Empowering Yourself and Others: Boundaries and Consent in Student Leadership – for students

Hosted by Title IX and Gender Equity, this workshop will discuss how student leaders can benefit their clubs/teams by focusing on boundaries and inclusivity. Students will learn how to practice consent in everyday interactions, communicate and affirm boundaries, identify and address potentially harmful norms, and access resources. Break Down the Barriers: Prevention and Bystander Intervention – for students

This interactive workshop hosted by Title IX and Gender Equity is open to all CSUF students to learn about how to overcome common barriers to being an active bystander in potentially harmful situations. Students will reflect on their power to make a positive difference, and they will identify strategies to intervene, interrupt, and seek resources to prevent and address potential misconduct and interpersonal harm. Pizza and light refreshments served. No RSVP required.
The Past, Present, and End of Rape Culture in the 21st Century – for both students and employees

This workshop hosted by Title IX and Gender Equity is open to all CSUF students and employees as we come together to reflect on what harmful norms, assumptions, and attitudes – sometimes collectively referred to as “rape culture” – have historically meant for our society and what they continue to look like in 2024, both in person and in online spaces. Join this session to explore how our actions and even the words we use can either empower or marginalize, as we look to prevent sexual misconduct and violence in our community. Lunch provided to those who RSVP online prior to the date of the session.
All About Responsible Employee Reporting – for employees

This interactive, multimedia workshop hosted by Title IX and Gender Equity is open to all CSUF students to learn about how unhelpful and even harmful assumptions and expectations we have learned throughout our lives may limit how we engage with others in both social settings and intimate relationships. Let’s talk openly about healthy communication and Affirmative Consent! Refreshments will be served, and 10 participants will receive a CSUF prize pack. Mandatory Training for Specific Student Groups
Title IX and Gender Equity provides mandatory Title IX training for new and returning members of Sports Clubs, recognized fraternities and sororities, identified student organizations, Division I student-athletes, and specified groups of employees, including those working in Athletics and Housing and Residential Engagement. Responsible Employee Training
Title IX and Gender Equity regularly hosts a workshop titled All About Responsible Employee Reporting for all CSUF employees who want to learn more about their reporting obligations when they know or learn about acts or allegations that may violate the CSU Nondiscrimination Policy.
