Darryl Curran Creative Photography Wing

The Darryl Curran Creative Photography Wing is a vibrant space for students enrolled in Creative Photography & Experimental Media courses. Students work in traditional and digital processes, video and sound production, experimental media, and hybrid art forms. The facilities include an expansive darkroom for analog film development, large-format digital printing, and a cutting-edge lighting studio with professional-grade tools to bring creative visions to life.

Graduate Art Studios

Located in Building A, graduate art studios are available to all art graduate students through an application process. This central complex of studios provides students with dedicated space to enhance their practice and increased opportunity for cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Green Screen/Motion Capture Lab

The Green Screen/Motion Capture Lab is crucial to preparing our students for careers in the growing creative economy. It includes an industry-ready, custom-made green screen wall and motion capture equipment designed for students in Creative Photography and Experimental Media, Game Art, Animation and Immersive Media, and Graphic and Interactive Design.

Hot Glass Studio

CSUF is one of only four CSUs to house a a hot glass studio. The area includes equipment for hot pour, sand, and kiln casting. Students learn architectural glass/stained glass; glass casting; kiln forming; and glassblowing.

Student Galleries

The College of the Arts maintains three galleries where Visual Arts students have the opportunity to display their senior projects and assess their studio practice (Marilyn and Cline Duff Gallery, Leo Freedman Foundation Studio and MFA Art Gallery, and Stan Mark Ryan’75 Gallery).Each gallery boasts high ceilings and  adjustable skylights for plenty of natural light.

Nicholas & Lee Begovich Gallery

Since 1970, it has been the gallery’s mission to present exhibitions that contribute to the experience of learning and understanding visual culture. Its programming connects classroom curriculum to the discourse of visual culture. Exhibitions in this flexible gallery space change regularly.

Kalota Computer Commons

In the Kalota Computer Commons, College of the Arts students have access to the latest hardware equipped with entertainment industry software at any hour of the day or night—even during class times. This students-only computer lab provides a place to work in teams to create digital projects.

3D printers and office furniture

Digital Fabrication Lab

The Digital Fabrication Lab is an invaluable resource for the creation and presentation of digital artwork. Students have full access to 3-D printers and scanners, laser cutters, high-resolution digital printers, XXL Milling Routers, and other digital tools in this innovative makerspace.
