COTA GALLERIES ARTIST LECTURE SERIES

Behind the Build: A Walkthrough in Exhibition Design
Friday, November 21, 2025, 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: Bldg. G
Presented in partnership with Exhibition Design ART 453 A/B

Ever wonder what it takes to bring an exhibition to life? This fall, the COTA Galleries present   Soo Kim: Charlie sings in the quietest voice   and   Carole Caroompas: Mystical Unions, two exhibitions brought to fruition through creative problem-solving in design and installation.

In collaboration with the COTA Galleries staff, student team members explored how artworks shape and are shaped by space while experimenting with layout, lighting, and flow to create immersive, intentional environments for each exhibition. This behind-the-scenes walkthrough offers a glimpse into how design thinking transforms curatorial concepts into meaningful visitor experiences.
