October Crowdfunding

Crowdfunding is a online method of fundraising through the collective effort of friends, family, and fans. This approach taps into our participants network of contacts, primarily via email and social media, for greater fundraising success via matching opportunities. We hope you'll support our efforts to raise funds for undergraduate research in chemistry and biochemistry!

Top 10 Challenge

SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union has generously partnered with Cal State Fullerton to encourage participation in the “Top 10 Challenge.” This challenge will award an additional $1,000 to each of the 10 funds with the most faculty, staff and emeriti donors during the month of October.  

To make your gift eligible for the challenge make a one-time gift of $10 or more on the Fall Crowdfunding site. 

Year Round Opportunities

There are many different opportunities to support the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department and its students. Consider your time as a student in the department and what programs or areas were important to you.  Think of other students like yourself who can be helped with your donation.  Use the links below for the various funds:

• ASPIRE - Alumni Supporting Programs for the Integration of Research and Education - Funds provide  support to all aspects of student research in the department
• Chemistry and Biochemistry Club - To support student club activities within the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry
• Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Graduate Student Scholarship Fund - To support Chemistry and Biochemistry graduate students in their research and scholarly activities
• Glorya Welch Scholarship Endowment - Created in memory of Glorya Welch, the earnings from this endowment provide scholarships to full-time community college transfer students majoring in chemistry who have a strong academic record 
• Glen Nakaya Chemistry Scholarship - Created in memory of Glenn Nakaya, an outstanding biochemistry graduate of Cal State Fullerton who succumbed to cancer, earnings from this endowment provide scholarships to students majoring in Chemistry and Biochemistry with a strong academic record
• Glenn Nagel Undergraduate Research Fund - Created in memory of Glenn Nagel, earnings from this endowment provide scholarships to support undergraduate research activities
• James C. Sternberg Memorial Fellowship Endowment - Earnings from this endowment provides  fellowship dollars to a qualified Chemistry/Biochemistry first-year graduate student who shows excellent academic performance 
• The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry  - For discretionary use by the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department
