11 chemists gather together in lab coats as they visit pfizer

As part of the Organic Synthesis class, Chem 535, a group of 11 graduate students along with Dr. Pecic had the unique opportunity to visit Pfizer Laboratories in La Jolla. The visit was warmly hosted by Dr. Paul Richardson, Director of the Medicinal Chemistry Division, who provided an insightful tour of the Structural Biology and Medicinal Chemistry facilities.

The students—Manuel Berumen, Kelly Edwards, Karen Gomez, Joshua Li, Laura Ulloa, Jian Raines, Shelby Seely, Sandro Vasquez, Amanda Tsang, Rachel Williams, Alexa Wilson, and Cassandra Yuan—were able to network with Pfizer scientists and gain firsthand experience of the cutting-edge technologies, instruments, and techniques utilized in contemporary biomedical research and drug discovery at Pfizer.
