DIRECTIONS

  • From Interstate 15, exit Zzyzx Road. Go south on Zzyzx Road: turn right if traveling from the south, e.g. Barstow; turn left, over the overpass, if traveling from the north (e.g., Las Vegas).
  • You will immediately enter the Mojave National Preserve. Please drive slowly and watch for wildlife. Off-road driving is prohibited. About three miles down Zzyzx Road, the road becomes dirt for about a quarter mile. Drive slowly, and watch for mud, water, rocks, and wildlife in the road.
  • After the road becomes pavement again, proceed approximately one more mile until you come to a gate (near the NPS visitor parking lot). If you have a DSC reservation, proceed through the gate as directed in your reservation confirmation message. Be sure to close the gate behind you (and lock it if requested to do so).
  • If you are a public visitor, turn right to park in the NPS visitor lot. Public visitors may walk the nature trail around the north shore of Lake Tuendae during daylight hours only; the rest of the DSC grounds and facilities are off-limits to the public.
