Fred Buhamdan, P.E.
Senior Principal, Terracon

Fred Buhamdan is a Senior Principal and the Orange County office manager at Terracon. He is a licensed civil engineer (PE) in the State of California with substantial experience in performing geotechnical investigations, engineering design, and project management. He has a Master of Science degree of Civil Engineering from California State University - Fullerton, and holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate.  Fred spent most of his professional life in Orange County and served as principal engineer on hundreds of projects involving shallow and deep foundations design, settlement and slope stability analysis, pavement design, geologic hazard analysis, and storm water management.

 

Richard Daoud, S.E.
Principal, MELQART Inc Structural Engineering

Richard graduated from CSUF in 2008 with a B.S. in civil engineering. Principal at Melqart Inc which he established in 2014, and a key consultant structural engineer for major power and water projects in Nevada, Arizona, and California, which included the Solana Power Generation plant, AZ , the largest in the world at the time of its commissioning. Richard is also passionate about real estate investing where he considers his structural engineering knowledge a critical factor assisting his ventures.

 

Navid Zolghadri, Ph.D., P.E.
Senior Bridge Engineer, TYLin

Dr. Navid Zolghadri, PhD, PE, has over 13 years of experience specializing in the design and evaluation of bridge structures. He is currently a Senior Bridge Engineer at TYLin. Prior to joining TYLin, he worked for several years with the Complex Bridge Group at WSP and Intelligent Infrastructure Systems (IIS) team at Pennoni Associates Inc. Dr. Zolghadri earned his PhD from Utah State University and has published his research in peer-reviewed journals, including the ASCE Journal of Bridge Engineering, and has served as reviewer for a few journals. He is an active member of several professional organizations and currently chairs the ASCE-SEI "Methods of Monitoring Structural Performance” committee. He also serves on the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Standing Committee on "Testing and Evaluation of Transportation Structures."

  

Gian Carlo Piatos, PE
Design Engineer, Dagenkolb Engineers

Gian Piatos is a structural engineer at Degenkolb Engineers in Anaheim. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Cal State Fullerton and a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in Structural and Earthquake Engineering, from UCLA. He has extensive experience designing new construction projects using various structural materials and systems.

  

Nathan Forrest, P.E. ENV SP
Technical Director, California Nevada Cement Association

Nathan Forrest is a distinguished licensed Civil Engineer with over 25 years of expertise in the design and construction of residential, commercial, highway, bridge, and drainage projects. His extensive experience spans complex infrastructure development, where he has successfully led projects that enhance durability, efficiency, and sustainability in the built environment. As a Technical Director at the California Nevada Cement Association (CNCA), he leads innovation in low-carbon concrete technologies. Nathan is a recognized authority in the use of Blended Cements, including Portland Limestone Cement (PLC) and has played a pivotal role in major projects, including the Gerald Desmond Bridge Replacement in Long Beach, CA.

 

Artin Sarkisyan, MS, P.E. S.E.
Senior Project Engineer, Grimm & Chen Structural Engineering, Inc

Artin Sarkisyan graduated cumme laude with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Cal State University Northridge in 2009 and Masters in Structural Engineering and Applied Mechanics from Cal State University Northridge in 2013. He has over 15 years of combined Construction Management and Structural Engineering experience and has worked on a wide array of engineering projects ranging from high rise reinforced concrete apartment buildings through historical structure restoration projects to luxury car dealerships. He has presided as the guest judge at Cal State University Northridge class on fundamentals of geodetic surveying end of semester design project presentations on numerous occasions. He is a member of Tau Beta Pi engineering society and regularly attends the annual World of Concrete Convention in Las Vegas.”

 

Jaime Bueno Marcos, PE, GE
Associate Engineer, Regional Manager, Group Delta

Jaime Bueno is a seasoned geotechnical and environmental engineer with over two decades of experience in the field. He holds a Master of Science in Geotechnical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Southern California. Currently serving as an Associate Engineer and Los Angeles Manager at Group Delta Consultants, Inc., Bueno has contributed to a diverse range of projects across sectors such as public works, transportation, education, land development, mining, manufacturing, energy, solid waste, and real estate transactions. His expertise encompasses site characterization, design, construction, and environmental assessments, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments.

 

Saddanathapillai (Nesa) Nesarajah, PhD, GE 
Geotechnical Engineer, Bureau of Engineering, Department of Public Works

Dr. Nesarajah is a highly experienced geotechnical and earthquake engineer with more than 28 years of expertise. Dr. Nesarajah earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University at Buffalo and holds a Master of Engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology. He currently serves as a Geotechnical Engineer I with the City of Los Angeles. He specializes in providing geotechnical engineering recommendations for a variety of structures, including power generating plants, substations, transmission lines, tunnels, dams, libraries, schools, refinery structures, ports
structures, commercial structures, and wastewater treatment plants. Additionally, Dr. Nesarajah is proficient in performing numerical analysis of practical geotechnical problems using FLAC, such as slopes, foundations, retaining structures, deep excavations, dams, tunnels, landfills, and port structures. 

 

Sitanan Tanyasakulkit, SE
Project Director, Grimm & Chen Structural Engineering, Inc

Sitanan Tanyasakulkit SE, is a Project Director at Grimm & Chen Structural Engineering, Inc., with over 9 years of experience in the field. She has a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from UC San Diego and a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Chulalongkorn University. Sitanan is a licensed Structural Engineer in California and has a LEED Green Associate certification. She is also involved in volunteer work, including student mentoring and fundraising.

 

Paul Oyen, SE
Associate Principal, John A. Martin & Associates

Paul has over 20 years of experience in structural engineering. He completed his bachelor’s degree at the University of Cincinnati and his master’s degree at the University of Washington in Seattle. He is an Associate Principal at John A. Martin & Associates. Paul has worked on a large variety of projects, from designing new buildings in Southern California to designing seismic retrofits for existing structures throughout the U.S. and in New Zealand, Peru, and Chile.

 

Bendon Baich, PE
CEO, Baich Engineering

Brendon Baich, PE is an alumni from CSUF, Class of 2012.  SInce then he has worked in both the public and private sectors, building his civil engineering career with emphasis in structures.  He started his professional career as a plans examiner, moved on to design concrete tilt-up buildings for a few years, and established his own company in 2016.  He has experience designing commercial, industrial and residential building structures across the greater Los Angeles area.  Brendon's focus on best practices, quality control and effective communication, gives him the edge needed to provide excellent structural services for a wide variety of projects.

 

Myles Harrold, PE
Senior Transportation Engineer, HDR

Myles Harrold, PE is the Southern California Transportation Hydraulics Business Class Lead at HDR.  He has been responsible for the water resources design and utility coordination of several multi-discipline transportation including LAX’s Airport People Mover, POLB’s Pier B On Dock Rail Support Facility, Metro’s Link Union Station and SBCTA’s Redlands Passenger Rail Project. He has over 25 years of proven experience in challenging hydrology and hydraulic designs, innovative water quality solutions, utility design and coordination, grade separations, and large transportation corridor projects. Myles is a proud resident of the City of Fullerton.
